Seeking orthodontics for your kids isn’t a decision you’ll regret. But finding the right time to begin their treatment can be challenging in the middle of a busy school year. With the initial appointments, and the general discomfort that your kid might experience early on during treatment, there’s no better time to seek orthodontics than in the summer.
Trapnell Orthodontics is proud to provide orthodontic treatments to those around Utah Valley. Our highly experienced team provides a variety of orthodontic services at our four locations, from Provo to Payson! If you’re on the fence about scheduling a consultation, keep reading to learn why summer is the best time for your kids to get braces.
Orthodontic Treatments With Trapnell Orthodontics
At Trapnell Orthodontics, we have a number of treatment options so that we can better match the needs of all our patients. Traditional braces, for example, tend to be the most affordable option. In many ways they are still the go-to for addressing alignment issues, allowing the orthodontist plenty of ability to fine-tune throughout the process.
We also have more cosmetically discreet options in ceramic braces and Invisalign. Ceramic braces function the same as traditional braces, but offer practically invisible ceramic brackets. And don’t worry, the ceramic is not as fragile as it sounds. Invisalign, the most modern treatment, steers away from traditional brackets and utilizes plastic aligner trays that you’ll replace every two weeks throughout your treatment.
Why Summer is the Best Time for Orthodontics
- Plenty of Time to Adjust: Early on, fixed orthodontics and Invisalign can be uncomfortable. It’s usually nice to start this adjustment off with a little extra free time, instead of adding another burden in the middle of a busy, stressful school year.
- Easier to Schedule Appointments: With the kids out of school, there’s probably plenty of time between all your summer fun to come in for appointments. Especially early on, orthodontic treatment is pretty appointment intensive. With an initial consultation, taking impressions, and installing braces, there’s a lot of appointments before we can get into a rhythm.
- A Chance to Get Out of the Heat: Maybe going to the orthodontist isn’t the best excuse to get respite from the summer sun, but with the July we’ve had, you might want to take every chance you can get to spend some time in air conditioning.
